At first 4 blinds we are passionate about window blinds. Roller blinds,venetiian blinds, vertical blinds and wooden blinds, we love them all. Blinds can put the finishing touch to any scheme. Roller blinds in blackout fabric through to sheers, Venetian blinds in aluminium, vertical blinds in plain and textured and the natural look of wooden blinds. The choice is yours.

Operating for over 5 years in Northampton, we have found that our customers really appreciate the level of personal service and quality of product that we pride ourselves on, allowing us to grow steadily but still keeping our main focus on our customers, after all where would we be without them!
We are not a manufacturer and we believe that this allows us to focus on the widest range of products, offering all the latest products in response to trends within the market place. However, we do work closely with all the leading manufacturers in the UK such as Hunter Douglas, Luxaflex, Faber and Sunway to name but a few.

Our customers typically range from home owners requiring either a complete home service or just a single blind, as well as a growing commercial market where we service property developers, letting agents, new house showrooms, offices and even schools!
Our service is very straightforward; we take an enquiry and arrange to visit the customer at their home or place of work, we then demonstrate and advise the customer on the types of blinds that will best suit their requirements. We then measure the windows for size and provide the customer with an instant sales quote. Because we work with a wide range of manufacturers across the UK we are able to offer the sharpest of prices that include a full fitting service. Once the customer places the order we take a deposit and then order the blinds, making a follow-up appointment to fit them! And we do not stop there-we ensure that once fitted we provide the customer with full details on their operation and service.

In addition, through our web site we also offer a full range of direct order blinds and we currently send a wide variety of products to all areas of the UK.
Our Franchise Package
Operating from home and a fully liveried van our franchise package is aimed at providing customers with the ability to view, consult, and purchase blinds/awnings together with a full fitting service in the comfort of their own home.Our mobile showroom is unique to the sector! Not only do we have a full range of product catalogues on the van but also we are able to demonstrate the key features, benefits and operation of all the key blinds.
We offer Franchisees a 5-year Franchise Agreement with full rights for renewal in an exclusive territory, selling a full range of blinds and awnings.

Training and Support
As a Franchisee you will be joining a business that is very committed to delivering high quality service to customers and training for staff-indeed, offering such a personal service demands that we surpass our customer expectations and therefore we need to provide you with an in-depth Training Programme. Our expertise will enable you to hit the ground running, so that when the time comes for you to launch the business you are ready and able-we do not simply hand over the tools and let you get on with it!Our Induction/Training Programme is very comprehensive and will provide you with all the training you will need to get the business up and running, as well as providing you with an ongoing package of support. Our programme is aimed at ensuring we pass on all the expertise that we have gained.
The Training Programme is not just focussed on the range of blinds that we sell and all Franchisees must undergo a 3-week Training Programme that will include:
- Product Knowledge
- Sales and Marketing
- Customer Service
- Measuring and Fitting Blinds
- Administration and Accounts
- The Van Programme
- Running A Business
The programme will cover all you need to know about how to operate the system and will give you an opportunity to develop a working relationship with the management team. The 3-week programme is a mix of classroom training and “out in the field” working with the owners of the business. Our Franchisees will never have to implement anything that they have not seen in action!
We also provide you with a comprehensive package of Operations Manuals and Training materials.
During your initial business set-up, our team will be on hand to guide you through all the key stages including company set up and VAT registration, and during your launch period we will be on-hand to lend support and guidance.
However, that is just the beginning of our support process! Throughout the year we will be running training seminars to keep Franchisees updated on new developments in the systems and the marketplace. This all adds up to a very impressive package of support that will help develop your franchise into a successful and prosperous business!
MARKETING AND BRAND SUPPORT
Our passion and aim is to make first4blinds the premier blind sales and fitting company in the UK!We have developed a programme of national marketing activity and a brand development plan to support businesses at a local level. We have developed and implemented a full range of local initiatives that we will provide to all Franchisees in the form of a Local Marketing Tool-kit.
In addition to a full “branding pack”, including a fully liveried van, all Franchisees will receive a full marketing launch package for their territory.
Franchise Finances
Becoming your own boss is not a simple road to wealth and luxury!Whilst it will require your total commitment and hard work, you will also need to make a financial commitment to the business!
(a) INITIAL FRANCHISE FEE
The initial investment is £14,995 (exc. VAT) and includes-
- Licence to trade and operate under the first4blinds trade name
- 2 week Training Programme
- Branding and Stationery Pack
- Corporate Uniform
- Launch Programme (e.g. Direct mail campaign, local press advertising and PR, product catalogues and price lists)
- Operations Manual and Training materials
In addition, our Franchisee will join a van programme and we have put in place a van leasing scheme (together with a number of other financing options) based on a fully liveried and fitted out vehicle.
Franchisees will also be required to have in place equipment kit-this costs c. £650 in total but we recognize that you may already have elements of the kit. Thereby saving you on start up costs.
This, together with a small amount of working capital to support your business through the first couple of months will ensure that you have set the business up in the correct way! However, our business terms are based on 50% deposit upon order followed by the remaining 50% on job completion, therefore ensuring that cash flow remains positive!
ON-GOING FEES
Franchisees will pay 2 on-going fees-1. Management Fee based on 5% of gross sales revenue
2. Sales and Marketing Fee based on 2% of gross sales revenue
Both of these fees are collected on a monthly basis by Direct Debit.
Following on from your 1st meeting with our team, the company will fully disclose detailed financial information including information that will enable a Franchisee to build a robust Business Plan. We can even provide you with support in initial funding as we have worked in conjunction with a number of the leading Franchise Banks, who will be able to tailor the best package for your circumstances!
