Who are Martin & Co looking for?
Our current franchisees are all very different – the case studies are evidence of this. Very few have a property background. We are seeking individuals who wish to develop a substantial business, and with whom we can forge a long term relationship.
During 2006 40 new franchisees were recruited, of which over 25% were within London and the South East. The expansion will not stop there, with a similar rate of growth planned during 2007

“I am not the type to revel in the quiet life and I also wanted to show that age doesn’t have to be a barrier by launching a Martin & Co franchise at the age of 64 in 2006. I worked in the printing industry before retiring and then found I was restless. I have still got a lot to offer, bundles of energy and I am always buzzing with ideas. I threw myself into the business from day one and I think I have made an excellent start. I’ve been interested in the property sector for some years and the franchise really taken off. I was delighted to have the opportunity to purchase a Martin & Co franchise. The company has built an excellent national reputation and I am very happy to be part of that.”

“In 15 years as a promoter and manager in the music business, I worked with some well known names including Alice Cooper, Robert Palmer and Paul Young. It was hard work and immense fun but I really began to feel it was time to change direction. The Rolling Stones may still be going strong into their sixties but I thought I was getting a bit old for it all at 37! I have always had an interest in property and the Martin & Co approach impressed me tremendously. I was born and raised in Islington, so I know the area like the back of my hand and it seemed like the perfect place to launch my own business. It’s an area of high value property that has great rental potential. I am absolutely delighted with the way things have gone since we started. Martin & Co has a great name and that has really helped me get established and known in the local market very quickly indeed.”
Adam Clasby, Islington
“I was a property and marine underwriter in Singapore and then came back to the UK and bought a fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Leeds which I owned for five years. It was a string of bad experiences with agents that led me into the property lettings business. I took the decision to manage my own properties in the Aire Valley because I wanted to show agents a thing or two about how it should be done and to offer other landlords a first class service. I chose Martin & Co because of its reputation for professionalism and the growing national network and profile. Since we launched we haven’t looked back and have just moved into two high profile shop front premises, a sign of just how well things have gone. We have built our growth on doing what it says on the label – providing excellent, dependable services and offering high levels of customer care and value for money.”
