Training As franchisees come from a wide variety of backgrounds, we provide a high level of training. It encompasses every aspect of running the business, from sales techniques to staff and financial management. Naturally, we also look in detail at Mr Clutch computer systems, workshop maintenance and product fitting. Additionally, franchisees benefit from considerable back-up and support from our dedicated training and marketing teams. Property search and acquisition Location is one of the most important factors for success and there is still huge potential for expanding our existing centres. Mr Clutch is constantly looking for suitable locations and, as a result of an aggressive acquisition policy, is continuing to build a successful network of both company and franchise operated centres. Area assistance An area manager will be assigned to assist and guide you with all your business needs and requirements. Mr Clutch employs regional area managers who have many years experience with the company; their wealth of knowledge about the market conditions in your area can help you make the most of your business.

Customer complaints are dealt with centrally by experts who are also qualified to suggest remedies where appropriate. Health and Safety We provide valuable assistance in this important area. We employ a Health and Safety Officer to offer advice and ensure compliance with all current directives. The cost of a franchise

New Franchise Autocentre Typical start up costs (incl. MOT bay) The following is a summary of a typical Mr Clutch Autocentre start-up costs: Costs (ex. VAT) 1) Legal fees £7,500 This cost covers legal fees on approving your new franchise agreement and lease. Typically this will consist of our legal costs, stamp duty land tax (if payable) and a contribution towards the landlords legal costs for granting a new lease. We always recommend that you obtain independent legal professional advice before making an offer for a Mr Clutch Autocentre franchise. The cost of your legal advice would be borne by yourself and as such is not included in this figure.
 

2) Premises renovation

This is an estimate, based on our experience, of the costs required to convert new premises into a Mr Clutch Autocentre. Typical items are as follows: Internal floor resurfacing £7,000 electrical alterations / fit out £10,000 reception / customer area alterations (usually off-set by some rent free period) £10,000 £27,000 The installation of an MOT bay for an existing workshop will also incur additional building work, cost as estimated: £5,000
 

3) Plant and Equipment

All major workshop plant and equipment required to commence operations. It also includes all reception fixtures and office equipment. The Mr Clutch signage and computer system always remains the property of Mr Clutch Franchising Ltd and as such is leased on an annual rental basis which provides for regular maintenance and upgrading. Major plant and equipment items as follows: Ramps (typically 6 x 2-post ramps) + Tyre changing equipment £17,000 Flywheel grinder £4,000 Air compressor + air lines £5,000 Trolley jacks, axle stands & specialist workshop tools £3,500 Workshop heaters £2,500 Reception alarm, furniture a & fixtures, & office equipment £2,500 £34,000 The average full MOT bay package cost from a reputable supplier (e.g. Tecalimet, Bradbury) is as follows: £15,000
 

4) Initial stocks

Full and comprehensive range of CIS clutch kits and associated seals, nose cones, bearings, etc, and a full stock of other components and workshop consumables + Initial tyre stock from nominated supplier. £9,000
 

5) Initial franchise fee

This fee covers the initial market research costs for your designated area, property search and assessment costs and all other advice to commence your Mr Clutch franchise. It also includes the drafting and granting of an initial five year franchise agreement giving you the right to operate as a Mr Clutch Autocentre franchise and utilise the Mr Clutch trademarks and logos. £12,500
