History

History
Rainbow International, one of the franchise licences owned by the Texas-based Dwyer Group, has been in the UK since 1987 when Mansfield Brewery acquired the UK Master Licence and opened their first franchise outlet in 1988.

Two years later, Melvin Lusty, acquired the business from the Brewery at a time when there was a network of 21 franchisees achieving a combined turnover of £350,000. In January 2003 the business was acquired by the ISS Group, which is a leading provider of facility services throughout the world. It has over 125,000 customers worldwide providing an unrivalled spectrum of services. In the UK Rainbow International is part of ISS UK Limited. Today there are over 120 franchisees with a network turnover in 2007 of £70,000,000. Most franchisees are growing substantial real businesses employing staff and operating from their own commercial premises.

Market Leaders

The UK's top insurance companies and major loss adjusters use Rainbow International to provide fire, flood and accidental damage restoration services to their policyholders. Each month, thousands of jobs are passed from the insurance industry to the franchise network via the company's 24 hour National Helpline.
Rainbow International provides both residential and commercial clients alike with high quality, carpet and soft furnishing restoration and cleaning services. Every home, on average, has between 4 and 6 carpets and at least one suite of furniture, hence the massive market potential.

Training and Support

Training and Support
A new franchisee joining the Rainbow International network, becomes a team member of a market leading service provider. A franchisee has a large exclusive area in which to operate and build a business. Any members of staff employed by a franchisee are trained, free of charge, by the franchisor. The initial franchise fee includes all the franchisee’s training from start-up onwards.

All franchisees are equipped with the machinery and tools to do the job, together with all the products to last a good time into the first year of trading. In addition, a comprehensive stationery and marketing pack is supplied, together with bespoke computer hardware and software. Everything is designed and developed to work and produce results. Rainbow International franchisees are treated like customers, because that’s what they are. That’s why ongoing fees are turnover related. The more a franchisee earns, the more the franchisor makes.

The company shares its vision and strategies with its franchisees through comprehensive channels of communication, including an advisory council, newsletters, regional meetings, annual reunion and Intranet.
Any franchisee in any company or industry deserves first class support. Rainbow International provides such back-up. For every aspect of the franchisee’s business, experienced support and business development managers (BDMs) are on call to help the business grow. A new franchisee has his or her own business plan with realistic and achievable objectives. The BDMs are dedicated to helping franchisees exceed their turnover and business growth expectations.

When you come to employ staff, Rainbow International helps with their recruitment and we also give you advice on the establishment of business premises.

Rainbow International helps its franchisees in other ways too, including national sales and marketing activities, a state-of-the-art, 24 hour call centre and continuous investment in business, technical and I.T. systems.

With a Rainbow International franchise, you’re in business immediately. There is no lengthy, agonising, establishment period. There is income potential from day one.

Who's Ideal for Us

Who's Ideal for Us
Rainbow International takes extreme care to ensure that people who join the already very successful network, are going to complement it and, at the same time, be capable and have the desire to build their own "real" business.

Ultimately a franchisee is taken through all stages of growth to a point in time, when they can be working "on" the business, not "in" it.

It is the company's firm belief that a business is not a proper business at all, until it will run smoothly and effectively without the owner's (or franchisee's in this case) presence. If the franchisee is working in the business daily, then his or her absence from it will, undoubtedly, have a detrimental effect.

Rainbow International's Franchise Recruitment department has strict criteria to which it adheres. When looking at a prospective franchisee, the following situations or qualities are sought and observed.

  • Financial solvency
  • Creditworthiness
  • Commitment to your own future and that of your family
  • Ideally some management experience
  • Smart, presentable appearance
  • Energy
  • Enthusiasm
  • Discipline
  • Determination
  • Focus
  • Business-like attitude
  • Honesty

Numerous other aspects of an applicant's suitability are sought. The recruitment process gauges commitment with the end result of both parties being able to make a sound, informed and confident decision, arriving, eventually, at the right outcome.

Never forget: this is a long-term relationship being sought, hopefully by both the franchisor and franchisee. It is crucial therefore, to ensure that the partnership is going to be a mutually pleasant, constructive and productive one.

In a nutshell, if you desire a better lifestyle, but do not mind working hard for it, Rainbow International will be very interested in talking to you about your future aspirations.
