Smart Brain UK

Smart Brain UK is part of the Smart Brain international franchise network, which provides a mental maths and enrichment program for children ages 4 to 14. About us

About us
To date Smart Brain is established in Thailand, America, Canada, India, Singapore, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and U.A.E. Around 250,000 students benefit from our program in these countries. In the U.K, we have started pilot operations in Ilford, Stanmore, Brentwood and East Ham since entering the market in October 2005. A new centre is starting up in Hampstead in September 2006. We have also begun recruiting our first group of franchisees to commence in January 2007.

As an instructor, you will teach children mental maths using a Japanese abacus (“soroban”) during their weekly 1½ -2 hour lesson. Each lesson is complemented by brain teasers and games such as Sudoku, Tangram puzzles, Mensa puzzles, Kakura etc. These help to involve and stimulate the children, who develop and improve numerous abilities including concentration, memory and listening skills. The key benefit of Smart Brain is that it stimulates a child with learning difficulty and challenges a bright child to achieve more. It extends the mental ability of a child in an uncompromising way. Mental maths is the building block that is needed for the overall academic, social and emotional development of the child. The mental stimulation through Smart Brain develops the right side of the brain of a child, which is that part of the brain responsible for logic, conceptualisation, problem solving, non-verbal reasoning and imagination. For children and parents, the programme is a successful formula to turn a dry Maths subject into an electrifying subject, one that children will look forward to attending.

The franchisees will work with schools, pre-schools, community centres and independent centres in hired halls. We fit into the overall scheme of plan under the Education Secretary of State’s Extended School programme that seeks to keep schools open from 8am to 6pm. We have a defined strategy that enables franchisees to tap into this large and prospering market for providers like Smart Brain. Whilst the Government has committed £680million to the scheme, parents are also willing to spend additional money to offer their child extra-curricular activities within their school environment without having to ferry them around to another place for baby-sitting or activities.
This programme gives every child the services that meet their needs and gives them the opportunity to achieve their full potential in life.
